Professional film scanning
We provide professional drum scanning for photographers using a calibrated, carefully maintained Heidelberg Tango drum scanner. We scan 35mm, 120 / medium format, and large format (4×5, 5×7, 8×10), plus prints. Negatives, slide film, colour and black & white are welcome.
Scan sizes
We drum scan film up to a maximum scan area of 297 × 420mm. Our scan sizes are designed to be practical: large enough for serious printing and archiving, without paying for pixels you won’t use.
35mm (135): Size M is 4000px on the shortest side. Size L is 6000px on the shortest side.
Medium format (120): Size M is 8000px on the 6cm side. Size L is 13,000px on the 6cm side.
Sheet film (4×5, 5×7, 8×10): Size M is 8000px. Size L is 13,000px on the short side.
We’ve chosen these scan sizes because we tested them extensively and they represent the best balance of quality and value. If you need a different output, give us your target DPI and print size and we’ll scan for the end use.

Payment
The minimum order is 50 EUR. Drum scanning is a labour intensive process, with no automation at any stage, which is why the minimum order is 50 EUR.
To go ahead with your order, you’ll make this initial payment first. Please let us know in the order message if you’d like us to send you an invoice for a bank transfer, or alternatively we can send a PayPal money request and you can pay via PayPal using your credit or debit card.
The remaining balance will be charged once we’ve received the film, evaluated it, and confirmed the order and estimate with you.
